A LIFE DEDICATED TO HELPING OTHERS

Abdul Sattar Eidi Was a Well - Known Figure In The Field Of Public Service In Pakistan And The Word. Who Was The Life President Of The Edhi Foundation In Pakistan. It Is Very Good To Say This About Mr. Edhi.

WENT TO THE DESTINATION ALONE PEOPLE MET AND BECAME A CARAVAN

He Was Born On February 28, 1928 In a Small Village Of Bantva Near Joona Garh, Gujrat (India) Sixty years Ago, Abdul Sattar Edhi Gave Up Everything To Start a Charitable Organisation   Dedicated To Improving The Lives Of The Poor In Pakistan. The Edhi Foundation Is Now The Country's Largest Welfare Organisation. It Runs Schools, Hospitals And Ambulance Services Across The Country, Often Plugging Gaps In Services Which The State Simply Fails To Provide.

Throughout His Life, Edhi Sahab Set Examples For The World To Follow Through His Actions. In Fact More Work And Less Talk Remained His Principle Till The Very End. He Is Known As Angel Of Mercy And Is Considered As Pakistan's “Most Respected” And Legendary Figure.

Edhi Realized The Need For An Air Ambulance Service And a Piper Aircraft Was Purchased. The US Ambassador Presented The Foundation With a Helicopter Through US AID. In The Mid 1990 The Fleet Had Grown To 5 Helicopters, 5 Aircraft's And Up To 800 Ambulances. By 1988 The Foundation Had Established The Largest Burial Service For Unclaimed Bodies. With The Assistance Of The Church Or The Local Temple, Non-Muslims Were Provided Services According To Their Own Beliefs. By 1990 Over Ten Million People Had Been Served And The Foundation Was Assisted By 2.000 Full Time Volunteers. Nevertheless, Only a Small Administrative Staff Was Required For An Estimated Ten Thousand Persons Residing Edhi Homes.

On July 8, 2016, Pakistan Lost Its Most Prominent Philanthropist And Humanitarian, Abdul Sattar Edhi. Months Before, In a March 2016 Huffing-ton Post Article, He was Described As Perhaps “The World's Greatest Living Humanitarian”. His Edhi Foundation Ran Hospitals,Ambulances, Homeless Shelters, Rehab Centers And Orphanages Across Pakistan And, For Decades, Provided a Social Safety Net To Multitudes Living On The Edge Of Existence. Personal Guardian To 20,000 Children, It Was No Surprise That He Was Known As The Angel Of Mercy, The Richest Poor Man, And The Father Of Service.
